In 2021, Hyundai sold approximately 96.5 thousand green vehicles, making it the most dominant manufacturer in the green vehicle market of the country. Kia sold around 86.7 thousand green vehicles. Totaling over 183 thousand vehicles, this was a 44.5 percent increase compared to the same ten-month period in the previous year. Hyundai and Kia have little competition at the moment. GM Korea plans to import electric cars from the next year, with no domestic production, while Renault Samsung has only a few imported green vehicles and no hybrid vehicles at all.
