Geothermal heat pump sales in the European Union have been oscillating until 2016, after that year they have been steadily growing. Figures decreased by 6,500 units from 2013 to 2014. However, between 2018 and 2019, sales increased by roughly 5,700 heat pump units, and by 8,380 in 2020. A peak was recorded in 2020 at 100,800 units, while the lowest sales volume was registered in 2014, with 82,700 units sold.

From 2019 onwards the data doesn't include the UK, only EU-27 countries. From 2013 to 2018 the data also includes the UK as well as all other EU-28 countries.
This statistic includes the sales of hydrothermal heat pumps.
