The number of employees in the printing and reproduction of recorded media industry in Turkey decreased by 4,140 employees (-6.97 percent) in 2014 in comparison to the previous year. This was the first time during the observed period that the number of employees in this industry declined in Turkey. Over the observed period, the number of employees has been subject to fluctuation. The relationship of employer to employee exists when there is an agreement, which may be formal or informal, between an enterprise and a person, normally entered into voluntarily by both parties, whereby the person works for the enterprise in return for remuneration in cash or in kind.

The source adds the following information: 'Number of employees is defined as those persons who work for an employer and who have a contract of employment and receive compensation in the form of wages, salaries, fees, gratuities, piecework pay or remuneration in kind. A worker from an employment agency is considered to be an employee of that temporary employment agency and not of the unit (customer) in which they work' Data coverage corresponds to code C18 of CE Rev 2.
