This statistic shows the office space vacancy on a structural and non-structural basis in the Netherlands as a percentage of total offices from 2006 to 2016. At the end of 2016, the vacancy of office space on a structural basis reached a value of approximately 13 percent. This is higher than the value of five percent reached in 2009.
In the Dutch office market, the number of office completions does not keep up with the increasing demand. Two percent of the available office accommodation in Amsterdam in 2016 was accounted for by new construction.
