This statistic shows the average rate of cases of self-reported stress related to the workplace per 100 thousand employed in England between 2014/15 and 2015/17, broken down by region. Mental health problems including stress, depression and anxiety, which were caused or worsened by work. The highest prevalence rate occurred in Yorkshire and the Humber, affecting 1760 out of 100,000 people in employment. The region of London had the lowest self-reported stress rate, with 1.33 thousand out of 100 thousand employees affected.

Results are based on the Labour Force Survey (LFS) run quarterly by the Office of National Statistics. Questions concerning work-related illnesses and workplace injury are commissioned annually by the HSE.
