Between 2008 and 2023, the overall prevalence of overweight and obese 8 and 9 year old children in Italy decreased. In 2023, the share of obese children amounted to 9.8 percent, while in 2008 it was 12 percent. The same trend, but with higher shares, was observed for overweight children.
