This statistic shows the results of a survey into the impact of museums charging general admission fees in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2016. Regarding number of visitors, 22 percent said it had a negative impact while 50 percent said it had no impact at all. Naturally charging admissions had a mostly positive impact on income. For the majority of museums, admissions had little impact on the mix or diversity of visitors, however 24 percent still stated it had a negative impact. In comparison, museums with free general admission stated that it had a positive influence on the diversity of visitors.
