The annual number of rejected asylum applications in Sweden decreased since 2017. This is related to the fact that the total number of asylum applications decreased since 2015. In 2023, 8,000 of the total 15,900 asylum applications decided upon were rejected. On the other hand, 4,200 asylums were granted in Sweden in 2023.
