As the coronavirus pandemic has caused oil prices to plummet across the world, investments in new oil and gas projects are expected to fall notably. For 2020, final investment decision activity in greenfield projects is estimated to value at some 27 billion U.S. dollars. Onshore projects would see the greatest share of total conventional investments. Meanwhile, greenfield capital expenditure is projected to hit a low similar to the one seen during the 2010s oil glut.
