Polish people's trips abroad
In 2022, the number of outbound trips amounted to 11.7 million. Most Poles traveled abroad during the summer months, between June and September. The structure of expenses incurred for foreign travel varied depending on the type of travel and its duration. During those trips, the largest allowance was usually spent on transport, both during short-term trips and long-term trips. The share of spending on accommodation reached 39 percent and 34 percent, respectively. Expenditure on meals constituted about 20 percent of the total value of expenses incurred during short term foreign travel and 25 percent for long term outbound travel. The budget share allocated for the purchase of goods constituted 17 percent and 12 percent, respectively. Regarding one-day foreign trips, Polish residents incurred the most significant expenditure on the purchase of products (59 percent), transport and catering in restaurants, cafés, and bars.
Exotic tourist destinations in Poland
The favorite exotic destination of Polish tourists was Thailand. Other popular countries were the United Emirates and the Maldives, respectively. When choosing a trip to exotic countries, Poles preferred to stay in four-star hotels, where they usually spent from 7 to 14 days. Every second person traveling to exotic places as a hotel board option choose all-inclusive.
