The total number of examinees taking the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) in 2022 amounted to approximately 788 thousand people. The test is usually conducted twice a year, in July and December. Due to the outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the test was only carried out once in 2020.
