The @MayorofLondon official Twitter account is the most followed political account in the United Kingdom, having attracted nearly 3.3 million followers. Mayor of London Sadiq Khan’s personal account also features in the top ten, coming in at number six with 1.1 million followers. The two accounts largely post similar material, however, the @sadiqkhan handle will remain with Sadiq Khan when he leaves office.

While 3.27 million followers is a sizeable following, it is a long way from the most popular accounts in the UK. @BBCBreaking, the BBC Breaking News account, leads the way with 46.2 million followers, as of November 2020. Harry Styles dominate the rest of the top ten list. @Harry_Styles tops the celebrity stakes, with 35.7 million followers as of November 2020.
