In 2019, the revenue generated by companies operating in the biotechnology sector in Italy amounted to more than 11 billion euros. This statistic shows how this revenue was distributed across Italian regions. As of the survey period, Lombardy held the highest revenue share of the biotech industry, with over 45 percent of the total revenue. More than 85 percent of the total revenue was generated by companies operating in Lombardy, Lazio, and Tuscany.
