The southern city of Bengaluru in India had around 359 thousand registered light passenger vehicles in fiscal year 2020, the most among major cities across the country. India’s automotive market was dominated by two-wheelers and passenger vehicles. Small and mid-sized car sales accounted for about 13 percent of around 2.9 million vehicles in terms of sales. Two-wheeler sales on the other hand had a share of over 80 percent.
