The north-eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh in India had the lowest number of condom users compared to the rest of the country, with just about 27 couples reportedly using this contraceptive method per 10,000 unsterilized couples. Overall, the data pointed to the fact that a majority of north-eastern states in the country including Manipur, Tripura and Nagaland had low numbers of condom users but a higher share of other birth control method users.
