In 2012, roughly 2.7 million overseas tourists from Great Britain visited the country, while this figure reached around 3.5 million in 2019, rising by 0.2 percent over the previous year. Overall, Ireland reported the highest number of British visitors in 2016 when it welcomed 3.6 million travelers from Great Britain.
