According to a survey conducted in 2022 in Japan, consumers drank an average of 10.6 cups of coffee on a weekly basis. The weekly consumption volume of coffee among Japanese people has been remaining above ten cups a week since 2002.

Figures prior to 2020 were conducted as face-to-face interviews. The methodology was changed to a postal questionnaire following the coronavirus outbreak in 2020. In 2022, the survey was conducted online.
