The sales revenue from Norwegian adult fiction books fluctuated in the past decade, peaking in 2013 at nearly 200 million Norwegian kroner. The year 2010 saw the lowest value, but after increases in later years, the figure began falling again, and was as low as 145 million NOK in 2021. In 2023, the figure recovered slightly to over 157 million NOK, although remained lower than pre-pandemic years.
