According to the survey, the Partito Democratico (Centre-left party) lost its popularity by over four percent in more than one year, falling from 32.2 percent in February 2016 to 28.5 percent in May 2017. The party's secretary is Matteo Renzi, who was elected in the 2013 leadership election re-elected in the 2017 leadership election.
