The figure shows the changes of public opinion on euthanasia in order to relieve pain and suffering in Italy from 2002 to 2016. According to the survey, the share of respondents who agreed on the possibility to end life of a suffering patient when asked was over 56 percent the whole time, peaking at 69 percent on 2012.
