Between the seasons 2014/2015 and 2018/2019, the number of amateur soccer clubs in Italy fluctuated. In 2014/2015, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) recorded roughly 61 thousand clubs, most of which related to the youth and school sector. In 2017/2018, the number of amateur soccer clubs peaked at 66 thousand, before decreasing to about 64 thousand in 2018/2019.
