Value of financial intermediation outside of the banking sector in Italy 2010-2020
The total value of the non-bank financial intermediation (NBFI) sector in Italy increased in the last decade, reaching a value of approximately 840 billion U.S. dollars as of 2020. Non-bank financial intermediation, also commonly known as market-based financing, is defined as credit intermediation involving activities and entities that fall outside of the regular banking system.
