In Italy, magazine industry expenditure amounted to just 1.16 billion euros in 2021, marking a slight decrease from the 1.18 billion euros recorded in the previous year, yet a significant decrease from the over 1.6 billion euros in 2019. The figure recorded in 2021 was also more than 50 percent lower than that of 2012.
