In the second quarter of 2023, the gross disposable income of Dutch households was 148.1 billion euros. In 2021, the saving rate of households is forecasted to reach approximately 22.4 percent. Disposable income or disposable personal income (DPI) is the amount of money households have available for spending and saving after income taxes have been accounted for. It is seen as one of many key economic indicators to show the overall health of an economy. As a concept, disposable income is deemed closer to the idea of income as generally understood in economics, than is either national income or gross domestic product (GDP).
