This statistic shows the percentage change on previous year of real disposable income of households in the Netherlands from the first quarter of 2016 to the second quarter of 2023. Disposable income or disposable personal income (DPI) is the amount of money households have available for spending and saving after income taxes have accounted for. It is seen as one of many key economic indicators to show the overall health of an economy. As a concept, disposable income is deemed closer to the idea of income been as generally understood in economics, than is either national income or gross domestic product (GDP). In the second quarter of 2023, the real disposable income of households increased with roughly 1.4 percent compared to the same quarter a year before. In 2023, the saving rate of households is forecasted to increase by approximately 17.7 percent when compared to 2022.

*Figures are provisional. The source states that "the sector households includes all natural persons who are resident for more than one year in the Netherlands, irrespective of their nationality. On the other hand, Dutch citizens who stay abroad for longer than one year do not belong to the Dutch sector households". Also, it includes non-profit institutions serving households (NPISH), such as religious organizations, charity organizations, political parties, trade unions and cultural, sports and recreational organizations.
