This statistic shows the value of household investments in investment funds and shares in the Benelux countries (Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands) from 2013 to the first quarter of 2019 (in euros per capita). In 2017, the investments of Belgian households in investment funds and shares were worth approximately 246 euros per capita.
In the Netherlands, most consumers tend to save their money, despite low interest rates. In 2006, the total net national saving in the Netherlands was worth around 81.2 billion euros. Subsequently, this increased to approximately 88.7 billion euros in 2007. By 2016, the value decreased, after some fluctuations, to roughly 33.6 billion euros.
