Get in touch with us nowIn 2023, Turkey exported nearly 21.2 million metric tons of cement, valued at about 1.37 billion U.S. dollars.
The global production value of cement is expected to grow from about 1.1 billion U.S. dollars in 1990 to more than 4.8 billion U.S. dollars in 2030. China produces the most cement of any country in the world, estimated to be about 2.5 million metric tons in 2021, and is considered to be the largest producer by a large margin. However, over the past years, some European countries have doubled or even tripled their cement consumption, so China’s lead in rankings are likely to change in the coming years as China faces increased competition from Europe.
The world's leading cement manufacturers based on installed capacity as of 2021 were China's CNBM and Anhui Conch, and Swiss company Holcim, in that order. Holcim, previously known as LafargeHolcim, was formed in 2015, when two cement companies, Holcim and Lafarge, merged to form the new company. Holcim operates in 90 countries and primarily focuses on cement, aggregates and concrete.
