This statistic shows a distribution of error types in medical malpractice in Germany as of 2023, by area of responsibility. That year, in roughly a third of cases the mistakes related to surgical therapy, while almost 14 percent of errors happened in care. In total, there were over 8,177 reported errors in inpatient treatment in 2023.
