By 2020, the Asia-Pacific region, the forefront of urban transport development, had developed a metro systems network of about 10,000 kilometers track length, which is a 110 percent increase from 2013. An increase in track length can be observed in every region through out the decade except for the two year stagnation period in North America in the years 2018 and 2019.
