The number of medical graduates in Spain increased by 118 graduates (+1.79 percent) in 2021 in comparison to the previous year. In total, the number of medical graduates amounted to 6,718 graduates in 2021. Medical graduates are students who have graduated from medical school or similar institutions within a given year. Per its definition, the OECD excludes dental, public health, or epidemiology graduates. The rate of medical graduates is of importance especially in countries with physician shortages.
