This statistic displays the most watched TV programs in French-speaking Belgium from 1997 to 2018. The second best watched program in Wallonia and the French-speaking part of Brussels was the FIFA World Cup 2014 game between Belgium and the US with approximately 1.7 million viewers.

The data only represents figures for the participating TV channels, those are: La Une, La Deux, RTL-TVI, Club RTL, Plug RTL, AB3, Bel tv, MTV, Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Canal Z, National Geographic and Radio Contact. Furthermore, the figures only show TV programs that last longer than 15 minutes.
The figures represent the highest number of viewers for the TV programs.
Since January 1, 2016, Live+7+guests is the new standard. Live+7 means the live watching of TV programs and the postponed watching until seven days after the program was shown live on TV.
The source makes a distinction between North Belgium, meaning Flanders and the Dutch-speaking part of Brussels, and South Belgium, meaning Wallonia and the French-speaking part of Brussels.
The figures show the highest number of viewers the TV program had.
* 1,500 families take part in the panel, approximately 750 families for the northern part of Belgium (Flanders and Brussels) and 750 for the southern part of Belgium (Brussels and Wallonia), and together they make up a panel of about 3,700 people. In the homes of every family an audiometer or a viewing meter is installed and registers the TV behavior of the individual family members. With the new Live+7+guests standard since 2016, guests of family members are also included in the figures.
