This statistic shows the total investments of pension funds in long-term loans in the Netherlands from 2006 to 2016 (in million euros). In 2016, total investments were worth approximately 16 billion euros. This is an increase from the 15.5 billion euros reached in 2015 and the highest value reached since 2013.

Long-term loans are defined by the source as "all credits, which do not have the characteristics of deposits and which do not mature within one year. They mainly concern long-term loans on obligations, mortgage loans and long-term consumer credit. As from 2008 after revision mortgage loans are part of long-term loans."
In 2014, Statistics the Netherlands has conducted a major revision on their macro-economic data. The national accounts have been compiled in accordance with the guidelines and concepts of the new European System of Accounts 2010 (ESA 2010). In addition, new statistical sources and estimation methods have been used during the revision. This table shows the figures from 2008 after revision, the figures up to 2008 have not changed.
