Social media users in Finland in 2015, by platform
Facebook ranked higher than YouTube with a difference of 7 percent. The third most popular platform, Google+, accounted for 25 percent of the respondents. Most popular after Facebook, YouTube and Google+ were blogs and message boards.
Both YouTube and Google+ are owned by Google. Facebook, on the other hand, owns Instagram, which accounted for 15 percent of the respondents.
Furthermore, different platforms serve for different purposes. YouTube is a channel for users to entertain their audience with video content whereas LinkedIn is seen primarily as a means to professional networking. Users of Instagram can enjoy photographs taken by their friends while Twitter users benefit from the channel's news distribution.
