During the survey, 48 percent of respondents from the United States who had rented rooms or quarters in a private home or apartment for a vacation, had an annual household income greater than 100 thousand U.S. dollars.

Have taken at least one leisure trip at least 75 miles from home in the past 12 months that included paid lodging and/or air and/or rail travel. Have played an active role in planning leisure trips and go online to research travel and/or book travel and/or share their travel experience. Have stayed in shared space accommodation in the last 12 months.
