The biggest group of people outside the labor force in Sweden was the pensioners. In 2021, 892,000 of the total 1.96 million outside the labor force in the Nordic country belonged to this group. Full-time students made up the second largest group outside the labor force with 569,000, followed by sick people. The smallest group were household workers with around 43,000 not in employment.
