"The rating scale provided had 7 points where 1 was ‘not at all a barrier’ and 7 was ‘to a great extent’. Ratings 1-3 were combined to produce a measure for ‘not a problem’ and 5-7 combined into a single score for ‘a problem’. The neither/nor (N/N) scores are represented by those who selected the median rank of ‘4’."
