The global revenue of Merlin Entertainments, a theme park company that operates Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Legoland, and several other well-known global amusement and theme parks, amounted to approximately 2.13 billion British pounds in 2023. This represented an increase of almost nine percent compared to the previous year.

The number of Merlin Entertainments’ attractions worldwide provides a glimpse into the diversity of the firm’s portfolio: 46 Sealife Centres, 29 Legoland (trademarked as LEGOLAND) Discovery Centres, and 23 Madame Tussauds in 2023. Out of these attractions, the Legoland parks generated the highest revenue for the conglomerate in that same year, with a total of 914 million British pounds.

Considering that Legoland generated global revenue of 914 million British pounds and the number of annual visitors to Legoland worldwide did not drop below 15 million in the three years before beginning of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the LEGO-inspired theme parks have proven themselves to be among Merlin Entertainments’ most important assets. For example, when looking at a 2024 ranking of the leading theme parks in the United Kingdom by value, Legoland Windsor came out on top.
