The price of theatre tickets in the United Kingdom (UK) has gradually increased over the six years. On average, theatre tickets in the UK cost 27.10 British pounds in 2018, over two pounds more than in 2017.

The number of performances at UK theatres has increased in the last two years, although audience figures have been down. According to the same analysis of ticket sales by the UK Theatre association, the number of tickets sold declined in 2016 and 2017 before showing a small recovery in 2018. Regional theatres have especially struggled with audience numbers in recent years, and many have been forced to put up ticket prices to account for the loss. Nevertheless, average tickets prices achieved have managed to increase at a relatively stable rate overall, giving some hope for the future of national theatre.
