This statistic displays the distribution of the demand response electricity programs in the United States in 2014, based on sector. During this year, 61 percent of energy savings were accrued by the residential sector. Some 1.4 million megawatt hours of energy savings were generated. Demand response targets a reduction of electricity use during peak times by providing incentives to customers.
