First steps during homebuying process in the U.S. 2023
An online search for property listings was the first step of nearly half of recent American homebuyers, a survey conducted in July 2023 found. Additionally, 20 percent of respondents contacted a real estate agent and 11 percent looked online for information about the home-buying process. Contacting a bank or mortgage lender was also an important source of information, but they were the first step for only eight percent of the survey participants.
