Top 10 inpatient surgeries in Canada 2022/23

In 2022/23, the most common inpatient surgery performed in Canada was by far caesarean section delivery, with 110,659 c-sections performed that year. This is consistent with giving birth being the number one reason for hospital stay in Canada. Knee replacement surgery and hip replacement surgery were the second and third most common inpatient surgeries that year respectively.
