This statistic shows the estimated number of staff employed in the banking sector in the United Kingdom (UK) from 2009 to 2014, by subsector. The retail subsector saw its staff numbers decreasing over this period of time, more so than the other sectors. In 2014, the banking sector employed 405,000 people across the United Kingdom, 249,000 of which were working in retail banking.
