This statistic displays the assets of the global non-commodity sovereign wealth funds from 2008 to 2014. Sovereign wealth funds are state-owned funds originated mainly from natural resources trading or foreign-exchange reserves surplus. They are invested in various financial assets in order to, among others, diversify the country revenue sources or increase the liquidity. In 2013, the assets managed by the global non-commodity sovereign wealth funds amounted to 2.5 trillion U.S. dollars.
