According to the calculations, foreign financing of Canadian TV production amounted to 456 million Canadian dollars in the 2022/23 season, down by 18 million from the previous year. Meanwhile, financing from Canadian distributors also increased along with investments made from received tax credits.

Federal and provinicial tax credits refer to the tax credis Canadian production companies receive as defined by their eligibility, which are normally invested into their TV projects to complete their financng.
Financing from Canadian distributors includes minimum guarantees and advances invested in TV projects, in exchange for the rights to promote/market, license, and exhibit Canadian productions.
Foreign financing is comprised of broadcast license fees, advances, and minimum guarantees, as well as other forms of financing from distributors/broadcasters/other organizations not based in Canada.
Canada Media Fund financing is only for programming in the ficton, children's/youth, documentary, and VAPA genres,
