Plastic carrier bag charges: share of adults using own shopping bag in England 2015

This statistic shows the results of a survey, displaying the share of adults who will bring their own bag when shopping following the new 5 pence charge on single-use carrier bags put in place in all supermarkets and many other high street stores in England from October 5th 2015. Those over 55 years of age were most likely to bring their own bag, at 79 percent. The younger age groups were less likely to bring a bag, but more likely to pay than consumers in the over 55 group.
