The ratio of non-performing loans (NLP) to total gross loans in Romania decreased by 0.7 percentage points (-20.9 percent) compared to the previous year. The ratio thereby reached its lowest value in recent years. A nonperforming loan (NPL) is a loan that is unfulfilled due to the fact that the borrower has not made the scheduled payments for a specified period. In banking, commercial loans are considered nonperforming if the borrower is 90 days past due.
