As of May 2024, the fastest roller coaster in the world by top speed was the Formula Rossa, which had a top speed of 149.1 mph (around 240 km/h). Meanwhile, Kingda Ka in the U.S. theme park Six Flags Great Adventure had a top speed of 128 mph (around 206 km/h).
