This statistic shows the results of a survey concerning the willingness of singles to pay for selected types of online content in comparison to the general population in Germany in 2014. During the survey period it was found that roughly 11.2 percent of all singles stated to be willing to pay for access to online encyclopaedias like Wikipedia, if they were no longer available for free. In comparison, 12.8 percent of the general German-speaking population aged 14 years and above were willing to do the same.

The survey is based on the German-speaking population aged 14 years and older in private households at main residence in the Federal Republic of Germany.

2014: 8,156 respondents, projected base of 70.52 million persons.
Information on the target group "singles up to 49 years":
2014: projected base of 6.65 million persons.
Information on target group "all singles":
2014: projected base of 15.83 million persons
The source phrased the survey question as follows: "This list contains a number of services that are available for smartphones or tablet PCs on the internet or as apps. In case they were no longer available for free, for which services would you be willing to pay?"
