An industry on the rise
In the last few years, the number of Belgian breweries has increased exponentially, and in 2020, nearly 380 breweries were responsible for the total Belgian beer production. New breweries are founded every year, and between 2014 and 2020 the number of breweries more than doubled. At the same time, the number of people employed in the beer brewing industry also increased, from roughly 4,500 employees in 2012 to 6,200 in 2020.
