The amount of payment cards given out in Greece from 2000 to 2022 fluctuated over time with a general increase in this period. There were approximately 17.5 million cards with a payment function issued in Greece in 2022. Although on the decline, cash use is still relatively important in Greece, accounting for over three quarters of all payments in 2019.
